Floral Park Land Surveyors

Floral Park didn’t get its name by accident. Rather what began as unremarkable farms, fields and plains, previously called Plainfield, became renowned for its two dozen flower farms that flourished after the Civil War, not to mention the seed and bulb sellers that kept the village horticulturally focused, even after the Long Island Rail Road connected the town to the rest of Long Island and New York City in the 1870’s. And while the town was once technically part of Queens, it was officially incorporated into Nassau County early in the 20th century, at a time when the small village was still home to 200 acres of flower beds. This was due in large part to John Lewis Childs, whose mail-order seed and bulb business did such brisk business that the post office was compared to those of Boston and Chicago.

Although, the train makes travel to the city a breeze, Floral Park keeps its identity as a leafy suburb. The many Cape Cod style homes built for soldiers returning from WWII help to keep that character. The nearby attraction, the Belmont Stakes, is home to one of the most anticipated horse races of the year, deciding the outcome for a potential Triple Crown winner.

Whether you are in the process of selling your home, want to conduct due diligence on property you plan to buy, or want to be certain that your property boundaries are correct, Ferrantello Surveyors are the right choice for all of your Floral Park land surveying needs.
